There have been murmurs of this new PixieDust Collection from Zoya for weeks — some people saw preview pictures in the Zoya color brochure that they received with their orders.

They all look gorgeous but I’m a bit puzzled at how similar they are to each other, especially Oswin and Arianna.  We got several close pinks this summer in the earlier Magical PixieDust sets, and I for one would have liked to have seen, say,  a very dark green or even black.  But, hey!  It’s not my company!  These three new ones are beautiful, saturated colors — great for a night out on the town or the holidays.

I’m hoping Oswin will be a good substitute for one of Zoya’s very first PixieDusts, the red called Chyna. Could never get its texture to look quite right, a sentiment echoed by some others.

  1. Love to see they came out with the official announcement. Just off the top of my head. I’m thinking Miranda or Carter. Any similarities you might see there? Well, your best estimate not having any swatches. I was thinking about adding one to my Ignite/Anchor order. But, don’t want one too close together. I still haven’t checked into Zoya Facebook. I’ll go there next. Thanks, Susan. And, also just thought, I wonder if they will have a Halloween promo code this year. That was fun last year.

  2. They do all look similar. I’ll get Arianna for sure, maybe the others after I see swatches. So we went from Pixie to Magical Pixie to Ultra Pixie…where do we go from here? 🙂

  3. Also, on Zoya Facebook. There’s a contest involving 6 location first letters = 6 letter clue, each day, for a good promo, if you can guess the NYC location. Sounds interesting. Can’t see a location as yet, but I’ll check it out. Of course, I would probably not know the locations, never visiting NYC myself. But, you never know.

  4. Hmmm… Pretty but predictable colors, and I hate the new Pixies – that chunky glitter, ugh. I was so hoping they would do more of the Original Recipe Pixies. Still, I will withhold final judgment until I see swatches. Hopefully you will be sent some to sample and review…

  5. I agree with Kate. I love the Original Pixies the best.

  6. I love the color of Noir, but I just can’t get with textured polish. Some color/ texture combos make the nail look diseased IMO. One of the reasons I paint my nails is to make them smooth. Hate my ridge-y nails! Noir reminds me of Aurora which is one of my favorite polishes.

Can’t wait to see the swatches. I agree with you about Oswin & Chyna. I’m having trouble getting my paws on Chyna so Oswin may be a good substitute. I like Noir too, but if it’s too close to Carter, I’ll pass. I would love to see a pure white pixie or a bronzey brown. Maybe it’s difficult to work with some colors.
