New colors from Hard Candy

Hard Candy is a brand I have barely sampled or blogged about.  The only one of their polishes I’ve bought was their matte top coat, which does a great job.  HC is a WalMart-exclusive brand and I’ve shied away from it in the past because it always seemed to be marketed to kids, tweeners, etc. and sometimes the polishes were sold with attached cheap-looking costume jewelry.

But I saw the Hard Candy 2013 shades on their Facebook page and also saw the new but empty display at Wally World the last time I was there, so I expect them to appear shortly.  Let’s look at a few!  You can click on the pictures to see larger photos.

Here’s the “Candy Sprinkles” set.  Milky looking polishes are becoming more popular, and I’ve never tried one but would like to, especially after seeing work/play/polish’s recent swatches of some Illamasqua polishes.  Those look like beautiful speckled candy Easter eggs.

The “Crushed Chromes” set looks interesting too, especially the one on the far right.  It’s like an exotic jungle beetle shell or something.

And here’s “Crystal Confetti,” just one of the several new glitter sets from Hard Candy.  I see several I’d like to try, including the green one that’s third from the left.

These are SRP $4.00 but I don’t know how much each bottle contains.  When I find them I’ll let you know!

EDIT:  Just got back from running errands and found a nice full display at WalMart.  Picked up two which I hope to show you tomorrow.  However, since they are $4.00 apiece and each bottle contains 0.26 oz/7 ml, I wouldn’t really call these “budget” along the lines of Pure Ice or Sinful Colors which are usually $1.99 for a full 0.5 oz/15 ml.  These Hard Candy polishes are definitely minis but as long as you’re aware of that, I think it’s fine.
