The Starkers Collection from Butter London

You know how yesterday I was blathering about color and how it can cheer us up or just plain make us feel good?  Gimme a bright red or pink or purple any day!

Let me show you a small new three-polish collection from Butter London called Starkers, “starkers” meaning “naked” in Brit-speak.

BL Starkers

If I didn’t know it was nail polish I’d think it was liquid foundation.  The colors are so bland and neutral that I know without swatching they’d give me horrible, dead-looking mannequin hands.

Of course if you want a neutral creme — and these would look much better on either very pale or very dark skin; my skin is so incredibly average — then these would be a nice, albeit expensive, choice.

The three polishes from lightest to darkest are Shandy, Crumpet, and Tea & Toast.

This is definitely one of those cases of “just because something is ‘in’ doesn’t mean I’m going to buy it”!!!

Everybody have a great, color-filled weekend!  I’ll be taking a small break until Monday.  Cheerio, pip pip, and all that jazz.  ;-)

With no sun most days, the last thing I want is blah polish.

  3. That Other Jean

Alas, as a member of the Social Security Brigade with chubby, stumpy paws and short, fragile, bendy nails, I enjoy bright colors and nifty nail art on other people’s hands; but if I stray too far from neutral polish, my hands look ANCIENT. The most I ever do is to add a coat or two of glitter to liven my nails up a bit, and event that needs to be fairly subtle (Thank you, China Glaze, for Fairy Dust!). And thank you for mentioning neutral polishes now and again, even if they’re not for you.
