Nicole by OPI Launches New Lacquers for 2013

Nicole by OPI announces four new classically chic nail lacquer shades for 2013, including Plum to Your Senses!, Please Red-cycle, Totally in the Dark, and Still Into Pink.  Featuring two vibrant crème shades of bright pink and rich red and two shimmering hues of deep plum and glossy black, these elegant lacquers are suited for every wearer and occasion while delivering distinct color with a flawless finish.

“Swipe these four new lacquers on nails for intense color with on-trend hues,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “When it comes to style, any look can be enhanced by adding a splash of color, and these fashionable shades can be easily applied to match your mood.  The playful shimmer of Totally in the Dark and bold pigments of Still Into Pink both make dramatic statements, while sophisticated Plum to Your Senses and classic Please Red-cycle give nails a polished, stylish finish.”

These shades are very pretty but I’m not seeing anything new except perhaps for the black, which looks like an interesting deep, dark “starry night” look.  Reminds me of Zoya’s Storm, which I still don’t have because every time I go to order it, it’s out of stock.

I haven’t tried enough Nicole by OPI polishes to have a bankable opinion of them.  I did love the silver/multi glitter called Look At Me, Look At Me.  One thing that holds me back is the price of $8, which I think is high for a drugstore polish, and I almost never find them on sale.  Another thing is the odd, teardrop bottle shape.  If you’ve never seen one in person you don’t realize how much the base of the bottle juts out, and they don’t fit in my polish rack.  Minor, I know.

If I could find them on sale, I’d try more.  Just sayin’.

  1. I will buy them as long as they aren’t in the Kardashian line. Yuck.

  2. These are pretty but I am certain I have dupes for all but the red one. I don’t tend to use or buy much red unless it’s a deep dark oxblood red, a blue red, or a glittery Christmasy red. SO maybe I will pick up this one basic classic red color as it looks like a crayon red and I know I don’t have that one on hand. The pink is pretty, but not outstanding.
I agree with you about the bottle, it is hard to store because of it’s odd shape.

I really like the blue (I’m a total fan of blue) and the black one. And I love OPI (that’s all I own) but haven’t tried Nicole in several years. The red and pink are okay, but similar to others, at least in my opinion. Thanks for the great review!
